5th Greek Australian Short Film Festival Call for Sponsors

5th Greek Australian Short Film Festival


As the submissions are coming in from International and National Filmmakers of Greek background and or from filmmakers that have made films that are thematically Greek in nature, it excites me to see the program slowly panning out for the 5th Greek Australian Short Film Festival. The two sessions, International Films and National Films will be programmed in as part of the 21st Greek Film Festival which will be screened in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Canberra.

Submissions will close on the 15th of August and these can come through the Without A Box Website,





It has been great having these submissions come in and what's even more important is the support in the past that the Australian community has shown towards the filmmakers, by attending these screenings and applauding their films. Best Film will go out to the best film in each category; International and National category. These will be in the form of a cash prize and the idea is that this money can be further used by the filmmaker in the development of a future project.

Sponsors are an important part of any festival. Not only does sponsorship detail the support that is provided but it also exemplifies the confidence in the story telling that is portrayed by the filmmaker. It is an expensive venture realising a film and to be recognised at the end of that film by the audience, judges and the sponsors is a great feat for any creator of art. To think that a contribution is made in furthering the career of an emerging filmmaker and in providing a culturally significant moment for a community, and being at the core of that, is definitely special.


If you think that as an individual or as a director of your company you would be interested in sponsoring the 5th Greek Australian Short Film Festival, dates between the 15th of October until the 2nd of November, 2014, do let me know. A marketing package can be sent to you. I know that it is relevant to further our own goals, but surely there is always a greater reward in doing that little bit for others or the world. As Pike notes, I can see how that can remain and be deemed as immortal. Writer's block

I have some palm trees in the back yard which have surprised me by how high they have become.  They were sold as small trees and now over power my small back area, towering over the trees in suburban Melbourne.  Despite their height, I have enjoyed the changes that they display with each season.  I don't know much about palm trees, but come autumn, they shed some of the old branches and their bark.  Mornings I will wake to find these scattered in my very small yard, did I already say I have a small yard?  You can imagine the space these take.  In any case, recently I found a piece of the bark on the groun
